Students Taking Selfies with Spot at Oosterpark, Amsterdam

Challenge

JetBrains Techlab is a technology museum on a mission to inspire youth and adults with the future of technology. The Amsterdam based museum invites visitors to experience how technology can make the world a better place. A constant challenge faced by the museum was to come up with creative ways to demonstrate technologies and to attract new visitors to the museum.

Sometimes Creating a Buzz is as Easy as Taking Your Dog for a Walk.

Approach

Working within the marketing team, we executed a fun yet simple marketing promotion where we took the popular robot dog Spot by Boston Dynamics for a walk in the park.

To spread the Christmas spirit, we dressed up the robot dog as a Christmas reindeer, while it dragged a musical carriage filled with stroopwafels. Each stroopwafel has a ticket discount QR code attached, along with the information about the museum. While walking the robot dog, the crew gives away stroopwafels to the passersby and answers any questions they have.

Who doesn’t like a free stroopwafel delivered by a yellow reindeer robot dog?
